Yeah, pretty sure they'd use one of the diesels that they have on the lineup. Could be the same ones they use in the GLE or something.

249hp and 457lb-ft of torque at 1600rpm which is bonkers. Turbo diesel v6

Perfect for towing just about anything someone with an active lifestyle has unless its some massive yacht that only a 3500 series truck can haul. If they can get up to 7000LBS towing capacity it will do them a lot of good.

The GLE comes with 7500lbs I believe, so I wouldn't have a doubt the pickup can do exactly that if not more depending on how they configure it. So that's something I'd be perfectly content with. But again... that's if they bring it out with that engine setup.

Narava gets 3500KG which translates to 7700, close to what you reported. Narava is probably the best reference point since they will be sharing a platform, no way Mercedes could have done this themselves and justified taking on the cost for a new product like this.

Agree. It's their first time in this segment, there's no point going all out one off for themselves as the costs would be through the roof with all the R&D they would have to put in.

It sure would, at least during the times we're in now, cars based on a similar platform can be worlds apart in what they feature and how they're configured so in the end we still get a true Mercedes product.
