Benz-Maybach X-Class

This is obviously just a rendering, but a rendering of a Mercedes-Maybach X-Class. A little more upscale looking with changes to the front and rear end. Headlights, Taillights, bumpers, etc.

Really doesn't look bad at all. But considering we aren't getting an AMG variant, I'm pretty darn sure we can count out a Maybach variant as well.

If they did though... would you buy it?

Definitely can't see it happening but would absolutely love those headlights and tail lights. Overall it does look drastically better than what the X-Class looks like but it's all just a fable. Perhaps an aftermarket company will come up with parts for it, but I can't see a Maybach edition itself.

Getting to the topic in the original post. I would buy one if I had the funds to do so.
I remember seeing it discussed that Maybach wanted to have an aggressive launch strategy and this is just about the only medium it can reach when targeting ruggedness with luxury and this has been proven to work, Lincoln being one example of a car maker that took the F150 to a new level of luxury.
those headlights are very nice, but expensive to produce and we'll never see something like that. What's nice is that Mercedes didn't stick on a large badge on the rear tailgate, I hate it when manufacturers put something excessively large there.

Lucky for MB they're in a position that having some aggressive upsells will do them some good and the consumer. People are willing to pay to jump through all the trims. But to start I think a gradual release of premium packages will be the best route.
Three years later, we can all agree these headlights are some of the most beautiful ones on the market, and once again it shows the high standards required at MB throughout time.

According to Mercedes, the digital light system used in the Mercedes-Benz Maybach X displays one million pixels per headlamp. And they do so thanks to over one million micro-reflectors. Camera and sensor systems monitor the road ahead to detect oncoming traffic and obstacles, then adjusts the lights as needed.
