That's something new

I love Mercedes product line, each and every car of it. Currently, I have a nice 2014 GL, which I really like, however, I've been always wondering how cool it would be to have a premium class pickup instead of SUV. I can't wait to see X-Class at the local dealership.

Cheers.

Has your dealership mentioned an arrival date for the X-Class yet? I know a general outline for global release like November for Europe, Australia and New Zealand early next year, Argentina and Brazil in 2019.

Too bad Mercedes didn't use the GL's platform for the X-Class but instead when with something from Nissan otherwise you might feel right at home in the X-Class.
Are there certain aspects of the GL you want to see in the X-Class? Surely there has to be something.

Which trim GL do you have?
Unfortunately I didn't ask my dealer about it.
I have a GL350 Bluetec sport premium. Speaking of X-Class, I'm expecting to see the whole new vehicle, however, it would be nice to see the same interior outlines that I have in my GL (big dashboard with some wooden inserts).

If you look up pictures of the interior you can already see that happening, the only difference I can spot is the fact we are getting a sportier steering wheel which for a pick-up like this X-Class is to be expected.
I'm sure the X-Class will have the same levels of luxury you're used to seeing from Mercedes and with them touting it as a premium pickup, the cabin shouldn't be lacking.
I'm hoping for GLC levels of luxury since that seems to be the closest MB product to the X-Class. Won't be too surprised if they share enough interior parts. Plus this was a low budget build, hence the whole partnership with Nissan, much unlike other MB products we have seen all throughout these years.
The entry-level Pure trim may seem somewhat frugal to you with its hard plastics, but the range-topping Power variant comes with stitched faux leather dashboard and the inner door panels with optional aluminum and wood trims. May as well go for the range topping trim if you're after that MB luxury feel.
That's the great thing about them being Mercedes because unlike other brands without a strong image can't get away by making frugal moves, instead they need to provide some incentive.
